What Are Common Reasons For Blocked Ducts?
A clogged milk duct prevents the breast from fully draining. The most common reasons for plugged ducts include: excessive pressure caused by sports bras or tight bras with underwires, vigorous exercise, lack of rest, dehydration, incorrect breastfeeding latch and breast engorgement.
How effective is lecithin in treating plugged ducts?
Organic Sunflower Lecithin is a natural fat emulsifier that can help to reduce the “stickiness” of the milk and deter fats from clumping together to cause clogged ducts. It may also loosen existing fatty clogs and improve milk flow.
After you unclog the milk ducts, the lecithin will prevent further clogging since it decreases the breast milk viscosity, which will prevent blockage of the milk ducts.
Does lecithin improve the quality and quantity of milk supply?
Yes, this supplement makes breast milk less thick and sticky. It will prevent clogging and improve the quantity of the milk you produce. The lecithin will help you drain your breasts more, so in turn, you will be able to produce more milk that will be higher in quantity and quality.
It is known that empty breasts produce more fatty milk than full breasts. When breast milk is not fat enough, it is less caloric, so your baby will not thrive and gain weight as it should.
That is where the sunflower lecithin supplements will help! The sunflower lecithin will directly affect the amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids in breast milk by increasing the milk's fat percentage making it higher in calories and nutrients. Besides, lecithin is the most used food additive, and there are no known contraindications and side effects of its usage, so it is entirely safe to use.
Suggested Use: For plugged ducts, take 1 softgel 3-4 times daily. For daily maintenance, take 1 softgel 2 times daily.

Lecithin supplements are derived from sunflowers, soybean, corn, fish, and eggs. Soy is the most used source by far, but since soybeans are often GMO, they should be avoided. Depending on which source the lecithin comes it can be in the form of powder and liquid formula (sunflower) or granulated (soybean).
Sunflower is less genetically modified than soybean; therefore, it is way safer to use for extraction. The process of extracting lecithin from sunflowers is much gentler than extraction from soybeans, which requires the usage of harsh chemicals. This means the purity of phospholipids in sunflower lecithin is much higher than the ones that come from the soybeans.
Logically, sunflower lecithin is considered the safer and way healthier choice.
The lecithin that comes from sunflowers will improve heart health, improve digestion, prevent clogging of milk ducts, increase breast milk quality, prevent recurrent episodes of mastitis, soothe and moisturize the skin and cure acne and eczema.
